About Beelu

Beelu Forest Distillery is nestled by Lake Nenia amongst the pristine forests of the Perth Hills.

The word Beelu is derived from the Noongar word for river or stream. The Beelu people were the original peoples of the area and we are deeply proud to acknowledge that they, together with the Wadjuk and Noongar people are the traditional custodians of the land on which the Beelu Forest Distillery sits, and where we ferment, distill and conduct our business from.

Our Team

Following a successful career in the public and private sector, in 2021 Tania embarked on establishing a distillery at Lake Nenia in the Perth Hills. However, after being elected to the Federal Parliament, her husband Nenad Djurdjevic keenly took over the business. Nenad - our engineering alchemist and Adam - coffee roasting, spirit blending guru; the distillery focus is creating organic Saprock Shochu - the first to be produced in Australia; along with Beelu Forest Gin, Saprock Vodka, Saprock Limoncello and Saprock Black - the ultimate coffee liqueur.

We pay our respects to the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation.

Beelu Forest Distillery is committed to honouring Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas and their rich contribution to society.
